Mr Csaba Kandrács, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary took over the position of Chairman of the Group of Banking Supervisors from the Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE)

As of 16th December 2023, Mr Csaba Kandrács, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank, ‘MNB’) officially took over the position of Chairman of the Group of Banking Supervisors from the Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE). According to the Agreement governing the organisation of the BSCEE, the Chairman is elected from its Members Institutions every year. The BSCEE Group brings together 25 Member Institutions from 24 countries and aims to promote closer cooperation between the banking supervisors of its Members.

Magyar Nemzeti Bank was one of the founding members of the BSCEE back in 1991 and has been actively involved in the BSCEE work since then. The Hungarian colleagues have already chaired the BSCEE Group during the Group's more than 30-year history and the MNB representative was elected again as BSCEE Chair by the Members' Conference in June 2023.
