Special Task Force for Financial Innovation in Poland (FinTech)


Special Task Force for Financial Innovation in Poland (FinTech) was created on the initiative of the KNF Office, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development in response to the dynamic development of new technologies on the financial services market. The objective of the Task Force is to identify legal, regulatory and supervisory barriers to the development of financial innovations in Poland and to propose solutions and actions that could eliminate or limit the identified barriers.

The Task Force’s work is coordinated by the KNF Office.

The Task Force brought together representatives of the KNF Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Digital Affairs, National Bank of Poland, Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data, Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, Polish Bank Association, Council of Depository Banks, National Association of Cooperative Banks, National Association of Credit Unions, Polish Organization of Non-Banking Payment Institutions, Chamber of Brokerage Houses, Polish Insurance Association, Chamber of Fund and Asset Management, Polish Association of Listed Companies, Warsaw Stock Exchange, National Depository for Securities, National Clearing House, FinTech Poland Foundation, Coalition for Polish Innovations, Conference of Financial Companies in Poland.

Report on the activities of the Special Task Force for Financial Innovation in Poland was published on 17th November 2017. It presents the barriers to the development of the FinTech sector in Poland identified by financial market entities, the actions undertaken by the Task Force to remove them, and proposed solutions and recommendations for further activities to be undertaken by the appropriate bodies and entities which will contribute to the creation of a favourable regulatory and supervisory environment for the development of the FinTech sector in Poland.
