Project name: "Sustainable finance – supervisory capacity enhancement"

Scope of support:

The UKNF, together with supervisory authorities in Croatia, Malta and Romania, participates in an international project titled "Sustainable finance – supervisory capacity enhancement", implemented under the second allocation of the EU Technical Support Instrument (TSI). The project focuses on the development and exchange of good supervisory practices for application of requirements under EU law in the field of sustainable finance.

The project is financed by the European Union in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) and implemented by a support provider under a contract awarded by the European Commission.

The UKNF’s participation in the project aims to increase supervisory capacity in the area of sustainable finance, with a focus on compliance by supervised entities with disclosure and reporting rules. The involvement in the project is to help the supervisory authority face the challenges in enforcing complex and constantly evolving EU requirements. The project also aims to raise awareness among market participants and consider their perspective, including their understanding of the obligations, opportunities and challenges arising from those requirements.

The UKNF acts as a support beneficiary that cooperates with the contractor and DG REFORM to make the best use of the support measures and products.

The duration of the project is 22 months (from December 2022 to October 2024).

The activities planned under the project refer to the renewed EU strategy for sustainable finance and the Action Plan for Financing Sustainable Growth, adopted by the European Commission.
