Jacek Jastrzębski, Chair of the KNF Board, met with Sharon Easky, Chair of the Supervisory Board of PrivatBank – the largest Ukrainian bank. During the meeting, the current situation in Ukraine was discussed, with a particular focus on the Ukrainian banking sector. The Chair of the Supervisory Board of PrivatBank thanked the Polish supervisory authority and banks for the assistance provided to PrivatBank.

In early March 2022, right after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority organised a meeting of representatives of the Polish supervisor and banks and representatives of PrivatBank in order to agree on how to support the leading Ukrainian bank. Chair Jacek Jastrzębski has been personally involved in the coordination of activities supporting PrivatBank with cloud migration, so that its customers can still use its services. The key challenge was to ensure the continuity of cash deliveries to the bank’s branches and ATM network, with a reduced number of armoured cash transport cars, some of which PrivatBank had given to the Ukrainian army when the war had started. 

The contribution from the Polish Post (Poczta Polska) to the activities initiated by the UKNF, in the form of free delivery of seven armoured vehicles to the largest Ukrainian bank, secured cash deliveries to the citizens of the war-torn country.
