On 21 July 2006 Sejm adopted the Act on financial market supervision

On 21 July 2006, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted the Act on financial market supervision. The Act established Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego (KNF), which replaced three separate supervisory bodies: the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission (from 2006) and Bank Supervision Commission (from 2008).
