Joint letter to the European Commission on Basel III implementation
The Polish supervisory authority supports the call for proper implementation, in the European Union, of guidelines on the prudential standards prepared by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision as part of the package of reforms known as Basel III.
The KNF is one of the signatories to a letter in which supervisory authorities and central banks call for a full, rapid and consistent implementation of Basel III. The note is addressed to the European Commission, who is working on the proposal for rules introducing relevant changes to the Union’s legal order.
Institutions in the following countries have declared their support for the initiative: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Italy – and in Poland – both the National Bank of Poland and the KNF.
