Aims and structure

Polish Financial Supervision Authority established in 2009 the Training Initiative for Financial Supervision (TIFS). TIFS is a training centre for supervisors of all sectors of the financial market (banking, capital market, pension and insurance) from European countries. Previously, a similar Initiative had been carried by the General Inspectorate of Banking Supervision.
The aim of TIFS is creating a discussion forum offering the possibility to share practical experience as well as developing the supervisory framework and capacity among supervisors by seminars targeted to the specialists of the supervisory institutions connected with supervisory regulations, including inspectors, micro and macro analysts, crises situations specialists, legal experts and accountants. TIFS promotes cooperation, exchange of experience and effective communication among the middle management staff of the supervisory institutions from Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the EU countries. The TIFS Initiative identifies the training needs and, basing on the results, prepares the seminar programs. Even though, all of the seminars are predominantly based on the Polish speakers and case studies, TIFS actively involves the specialist of participating countries as well as international experts.

TIFS is acting for the stability of financial sectors by means of effective implementation of the best supervisory practices and standards using the experience gained by Poland and other countries.

Activities

The training initiative TIFS offers the knowledge of practical experience and financial supervision techniques. The training programs are designed to give the possibility to participate actively by sharing examples of the best supervisory practices and standards. They concentrate on the common needs and interests of the countries from the region of Central and Eastern Europe and EU. Their aim is to promote effective communication and exchange of experience. The TIFS seminars are organized to go beyond the theory and generally known practices, in order to offer participants the examples based on case studies presenting effective implementation of regulations and supervisory methods and techniques.

The proposed interactive seminars are addressed to the middle level supervisors of all the sectors of the financial market (banking, capital market, pension and insurance) who have work experience and are interested and engaged in the subject of the seminar in their routine, daily work.
